- Stock: In Stock
- Model: Pollen Trap
This an equipment used to harvest bee pollen. Bees forage for pollen daily. The pollen is used to make bee bread which is what the bees consume on a daily basis. The pollen collector should be
placed in the morning after the bees have gone out foraging. The body of the pollen collector is pined to the entrance of the brooder aligning the flap with the entrance. It is important to ensure
that there is no other entry point in to the hive, so that the bees are forced to go through the flaps small entry points to get into the hive. Since the entry points are slightly smaller than the bees themselves , they will be forced to drop the pollen from their pollen sacs in order to get through. The pollen is then collected in the receiving tray. The trap should be removed before the end of the day to allow the rest of the bees to access the hive.
